Iran PressIran news: According to the official website of the Leader of Islamic revolution (www.Khamenei.ir ), at the ceremony, which was attended by well-known writers , as well as literary and cultural figures of the sacred defense era, the author and narrator of the book "Farangis", Mahnaz Fattahi and Farangis Heidarpour respectively, were honoured. The book is a memoir of a Kurdish lady, a resident of a Kurdish village near the border with Iraq, and her heroic resistance during attacks of the Ba'athist regime in eight years of war.

Midday on Sunday, after the ceremony in honour of literature of jihad and resistance, the author of the book "Farangis", Mahnaz Fattahi, and narrator, Farangis Heidarpour, met with the Leader of the Islamic revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

In his introductory foreword to the book Ayatollah Khamenei wrote: "It is possible to see an untold and a very significant part of the events of the sacred defense era in the life story of this brave and selfless Kurdish lady.

The Leader stated in this note about the book that Ms. Farangis, with a strong spirit, spoke with us in a sincere and intimate language of a rural woman, and with a woman's soft and tender emotions and feelings, and it shows us a hitherto uncharted part, and a very important part, of the eight year imposed war.

The Leader also stated that "We did not realize the extent of the suffering of the population of border villages during wartime. The plagues, displacement, starvation and the destruction the rural people suffered and the martyrdom of their loved ones, as precisely as explained in this book, as well as the sacrifice of their youth who were the first defenders against the invading enemy.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution emphasized: The killing and capture of enemy soldiers by this brave lady is an independent and exceptional story in itself, with few precedents possibly only in  Susangerd, at the very beginning of the war. Lady Farangis should be honored and thanked, and the author of the book, Ms. Fattahi, should also be praised for her good and fluent writing skills, and outstanding interviews.
