Tehran (IP) - Foreign ministry spokesperson did not confirm the stalemate in the Vienna talks, saying: "The United States is not going to give a gift to Iran, it has violated the rights of the Iranians and it has taken things from the pockets of the nation that it must return."

Iran PressIran news: Speaking in his weekly presser, Saeed Khatibzadeh referred to the travel of Enrique Mora, the EU's deputy foreign policy chief and coordinator of the talks in Vienna, to Tehran and said: "The talks in Vienna have continued uninterrupted until now. There was a stop in Vienna, but the messages were exchanged through the talks' coordinator."

"Mora's visit to Tehran shows that negotiations are underway. He is also scheduled to meet with Mr. Bagheri, the head of the Iranian negotiating team, in Tehran," Khatibzadeh highlighted.

"Despite the anti-diplomatic actions of the US Senate and the Congress, Iran and the P4 + 1 have been committed to diplomacy and reaching a good and reliable agreement. If the United States returns what it took from us and accepts that it has violated Iranians' rights, we can resume talks as soon as Mora returns to Vienna," the diplomat noted.

Khatibzadeh confirmed the visit of the Emir of Qatar to Tehran and said: "This visit will take place soon and the agenda is to discuss bilateral and regional issues. After this trip, the President of Iran is scheduled to travel to one of the countries in the Persian Gulf."

Iran is in touch with Taliban delegation regularly

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman also said that generally Taliban delegation commute to Tehran and various issues are observed.

"Despite facing harsh sanctions, Iran hosts more than four million Afghan refugees who benefit from education, medical services and other humanitarian rights," he added.

Khatibzadeh stated that there is no specific decision on the future meeting of Iran officials with the Taliban, though delegations have previously had some requests from Iran.

Recently it was said that an Afghan delegation planned to visit Tehran and talk to Iranian officials about Afghan refugees.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman referred to the recent violations in Afghanistan and reiterated that the interim government in Afghanistan is in charge of providing peace and stability for citizens.

Khatibzadeh later referred to Iran and Saudi Arabia talks and noted that no new development had taken place in this regard, though previously negotiations had been formed on various regional issues and there were some disagreements on some issues.

Continuing his weekly press briefing on Monday, Saeed Khatibzadeh elaborated on the situation of Hamid Nouri, an Iranian citizen, and the claim of its connection with the case of Ahmad-Reza Jalali and the request of the Swedish Foreign Ministry from its citizen not to travel to Iran.

"It's been a long time since Jalali has been arrested in Iran for espionage and his sentence has been issued and he has requested a review, which his case is under review and has caused major damage. The fact that a plot is hatched against Nouri, and that the defeated MKO is sets a trap brings witnesses to the court and politicize the court, and the Swedish government allows the politicization, raises our doubts about how this is going," Khatibzadeh said.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman underlined that the two cases had nothing to do with each other and the Swedish side wanted to show that the two cases were connected.

"Nouri's court has no jurisdiction and Mr. Nouri's basic rights have not been respected. Unfortunately, the Swedish government has not paid attention and must return to the right path right away," he added.

Khatibzadeh warned the Swedish government that these distraining would not lead to Ahmad-Reza Jalali's case being forgotten by Iran, noting that Jalali's case is espionage and is being pursued in a good way.
