Baku (IP): The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan said that there are excellent prospects for further developing mutually beneficial cooperation between Tehran and Baku.

Iran PressAsia: Iran recognized the Republic of Azerbaijan’s independence in 1991, and diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 1992. Iran has an embassy in Baku and a consulate-general in Nakhchivan City. Azerbaijan has an embassy in Tehran and a consulate-general in Tabriz.

The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, in his congratulatory letter to his Iranian counterpart President Ebrahim Raisi on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran, said: “The will of our peoples, bound together with religious and cultural roots, forms the foundation of Azerbaijani-Iranian relations based on mutual respect and good neighborliness.”

“Today’s high level of friendly relations is the result of joint activities of our countries for 30 years,” he added.

“The numerous mutual visits over the years, the documents signed, the agreements reached and the joint projects implemented have played an important part in the dynamic development of our cooperation in the political, economic, transport, energy, cultural and other fields,” the president of Azerbaijan said in his message.
