Ukraine (IP) - Ukraine has urged its allies, including the US and Poland, to send fighter jets to Kyiv to confront the Russian operation.

Iran PressEurope: Kyiv called its allies to send warplanes to fight Russia, as Warsaw and Washington reportedly were mulling over the deal to make it happen.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has asked the United States to help in getting more fighter jets to his military amid reports that officials in Washington are working on a deal with Poland to provide Kyiv with used Russian aircraft, Al-Jazeera says.

Poland won’t send fighter jets to Ukraine, the country said Tuesday, the latest in a series of similar denials from EU countries despite earlier promises to provide Ukraine with fighter jets.

In addition to Poland, the Bulgarian and Slovakian governments have also recently ruled out the delivery of military aircraft to Ukraine. Yet at the same time, a Ukrainian official was claiming as recently as Monday that Ukrainian pilots had left the country to pick up planes donated by EU countries, Politico reported.

The US also had announced its refusal to send military forces to help Ukraine, saying it would suffice to give Ukrainians humanitarian aid.
