Tehran (IP) - The head of Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission says the grounds are prepared for a win-win agreement in Vienna talks, but it is the European party that must make a decision.

Iran PressIran News: The eighth round of talks began in Vienna on December 27, and it is underway in Vienna, after a short break, without the US in attendance.

Mahmoud Abbaszadeh Meshkini told Iran Press on Sunday that the Western party must show goodwill to reach a deal that, on the one hand, removed their concerns about the nuclear activity of Iran and on the other hand, lift the sanctions on Iran.

Iran's nuclear deal or the so-called Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was signed between the country and P5+1 countries (the US, Russia, China, UK, and France plus Germany) in 2015, but the US scrapped it on May 18, 2018, re-imposing more sanctions on Iran.

Abbaszadeh said: "Fortunately, a major part of the issues has been solved so far, and we are optimistic toward the negotiations. Yet, in recent days the atmosphere has changed due to the US propaganda and media war."

The MP stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran preferred to no agreement to a bad one.

As one of the parties involved in the Vienna talks, Russia has entered into the conflict with Ukraine, formerly supported by the US.
