Tehran (IP) - In a meeting with Irish Foreign Minister Simon Coveney on Wednesday, Iranian President referring to Ireland's approach to world political and economic relations said: "What we are emphasising in the Vienna talks is that sanctions should be lifted and Iran's rights should be respected."

Iran PressIran news: "Tehran is determined to enhance its relations with friendly and independent countries," Raisi said.

Referring to Ireland's approach to world political and economic relations, the President said: "We welcome Ireland's independence from the United States and some European countries."

Raisi also referred to the two countries' potential for cooperation in various fields, including energy, science, technology, industry, and agriculture, and said that the volume of trade between the two countries could be much better than the current level.

Emphasizing that his country attaches particular importance to the development of relations with Iran, Irish Foreign Minister Simon Coveney said: "We are at a strategic stage in our relations with Iran and want to develop and improve the level of comprehensive ties and we are determined to reopen our embassy in Tehran."

"Iranian people's frustration with the nuclear talks was understandable because the US failed to fulfill its obligations," the top Irish diplomat noted.
