The 8th round of talks in Capital of Austria between Iran and other parties in the framework of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action(JCPOA) would resume on Tuesday, the European Union, which is coordinating the talks, confirmed on Monday.

Iran PressEurope: The participants in the Vienna talks, after consulting in their capitals, will continue to discuss the prospect of a possible return of the United States to the JCPOA and how to ensure the full and effective implementation of this agreement by all parties, the statement said.

Ali Shamkhani, secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, wrote that a good agreement would not be achieved with maximum pressure.

"The agenda for the Iranian negotiators to continue the eighth round of Vienna talks has been carefully defined," Shamkhani added.

"An agreement in which the sanctions that form the maximum pressure are not lifted will condition the country's economy and cannot be the basis of a good deal," the tweet reads.

After weeks of intensive diplomatic consultations, the eighth round of Vienna negotiations to remove the unlawful sanctions, which had been begun on December 27, 2021, was entered a break on Friday, January 28, making political decisions.

Iran is focused on lifting US sanctions

According to an Iran Press reporter in Vienna, Tehran has repeatedly stated that, given that the US has been a violator of the JCPOA, Washington must return to the agreement with the lifting of sanctions and that the fulfillment of US obligations needs to be verified.

"Real, effective and verifiable economic benefit for Iran is a necessary condition for the formation of an agreement. Show of lifting sanctions is not considered constructive," Shamkhani also tweeted on Saturday,

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said in a telephone conversation with EU foreign policy chief Joseph Borrell on Saturday night that positive developments had taken place in the Vienna talks, but they still did not meet Iran's expectations.
