Tehran (IP) - Of the patients diagnosed with coronavirus infection in Iran, 1,228 are in intensive care units of hospitals, the Iranian Health Ministry said on Friday.

Iran PressIran News: The ministry said on Friday that 1,228 patients of COVID-19 in the country are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care units.

The death toll from the pandemic in Iran has risen to 132,172, as 20 more Iranians have succumbed to the deadly disease in the last 24 hours, it said. Over the last 24 hours, 5,276 new cases of COVID-19 infection were reported, with 383 of them hospitalized, it added.

The Health Ministry also said more than 6,075,730 individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 6,241,843 infected patients so far.

It went on to say that over 60,447,659 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, over 53,461,941 million have received the second dosage, and more than 14,013,465 million have gotten the booster shots, and the total number of vaccines injected in the country reached 127,923,065 doses.
