Tehran (IP) - The IRGC chief commander believes that today’s war is to destroy national self-confidence and induce self-alienation.

Iran PressIran News: “Today’s war is to destroy national self-confidence and induce self-alienation to underestimate our internal capacities and consider the Western world superior,” said the Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), Major General Hossein Salami, on Sunday.

Speaking at the ceremony of the beginning of the third phase of clinical studies of the Noora vaccine, Iran’s top general added: “So when an official speaks with confidence and has high horizons in mind for big leaps, it can lead the society to the status it deserves.”

Major General Salami emphasized: “We have no choice but to be independent.”

Iran’s domestically-developed and produced Noora coronavirus vaccine has entered the third stage of human trial after the IRGC chief commander got the jab.

In the third human trial phase of the new Iranian coronavirus vaccine, which began on Sunday in a ceremony attended by Major General Hossein Salami, and Iran’s Health Minister Bahram Einollahi on the eve of the second martyrdom anniversary of Iran’s legendary anti-terror commander Lt Gen Qassem Soleimani, 10,000 doses are to be injected into volunteers.

Speaking at the ceremony, Hassan Abolghasemi, the president of Baqiyatallah University of Medical Sciences, said: “Noora vaccine is a recombinant vaccine that was tested on 70 volunteers in the first phase and 300 on the second phase. In the first phase of the human test, the Noora vaccine was proven to be safe and the immunization was evaluated in the second phase, and about ten thousand people will receive the vaccine in the third phase.”

According to him, five million doses of the Noora vaccine, produced by Baqiyatallah University of Medical Sciences with the support of the IRGC, are ready and will be delivered to the Ministry of Health and Medical Education once the third stage of human trial has been carried out.

Iran has been able to inject 120 million doses of vaccine in 4 months in its nationwide vaccination campaign.
