Iran Press/Africa: People in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, and other cities took to the streets on Friday to protest a military coup in the country.
Ordinary traffic has been disrupted in the streets of the Sudanese capital, and what can be seen is the presence of protesters in the streets, IranPress correspondent reported from Khartoum.
The capital people show their protest against the coup's leader by burning tires and closing highways.
The military coup leader dispatched army forces to the street, which protesters have blocked in the Sudanese capital.
Millions of demonstrations are scheduled for Saturday in Khartoum and other big cities to oppose the military coup.
On Monday, Oct. 25, 2021, media sources reported that Sudani Prime Minister, Abdalla Hamdok, had been under house arrest after military forces attempted a coup.
Military forces arrested four cabinet ministers, one civilian member of the ruling Sovereign Council, and several state governors and party leaders.
Since Monday's coup in Sudan led by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, commander of the armed forces in Sudan, several protesters have been killed in clashes with security forces.
Sudan has been on edge since a failed coup plot last month unleashed bitter recriminations between military and civilian groups meant to be sharing power following the 2019 ouster of former leader Omar al-Bashir.
