Kermanshah (IP) - Jameh Mosque of Shafi‘i in Kermanshah Province, located 525 kilometers from Tehran in the western part of Iran, is one of the most beautiful and magnificent mosques in the country, which has become a historical masterpiece over time.

Iran PressIran news: Jameh Mosque of Shafi‘i was established in 1945 and is located in the Kermanshah bazaar.

This mosque leads to Javanshir Square on one side where the mosque was built used to be a shrine.

The original building of this mosque was built with bricks and wood and also had a bathhouse. Engineers, professors and local workers of Kermanshah were used in the construction of the mosque, and Isfahani engineers helped to build the tile facade of this mosque.

The Shafi'i Mosque is built on 1,060 square meters. After crossing the bazaar and entering the rectangular courtyard, everything looks like other mosques in Iran. At the entrance of the building, we see colorful tiles of the mosque. But after crossing a few steps and reaching the nave, we notice the difference between this building and other mosques.

The main nave, which is located on the north side of the building, has a half-floor with five columns. The altar of the mosque is located on the south side of the nave and is made of white marble with a black marble border. Due to the windows around the interior of the mosque, interesting lighting can be seen, which is very effective along with the sense of calm and silence of the mosque.

A multiplicative arch has been used to cover the roof, and due to the climate and geographical location of the mosque, the exterior of the mosque has been covered with white travertine. The mosque consists of an old dome and minaret next to it and two simple golden metal minarets with a height of approximately 9 meters, which is installed on top of the mosque endowment building on the south side.

Jameh Mosque of Shafi‘i has men's and women's naves, service spaces, shoe-breaking and dividing spaces, library, water house and side spaces.
