The senior Irish senator welcomed his government's decision to resume diplomatic presence in Iran, calling it an important step towards normalizing relations with Iran.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Ireland announced on Tuesday that its diplomatic presence in Iran will be resumed and the Irish Embassy in Tehran will be reopened in 2023.
