Iran Press/Iran News: Hossein Amir-Abdollhian, Iranian Parliament Speaker's Special Aide for International Affairs, pointed to the end of the deadline for the United States and European countries to return to JCPOA, and tweeted on Thursday: "With no effective sanctions lift, Iran's exit from the Additional Protocol will be definite."
Amir-Abdollahian added: "WE WILL NOT AWAIT meetings, photo ops, empty promises by the White House & the E3, whatsoever."
On May 8, 2018, the United States officially withdrew from the JCPOA and, in addition to the previous sanctions, also imposed new sanctions against Iran.
The Islamic Republic of Iran fulfilled its nuclear obligations within the framework of JCPOA for a year, but since the European member states of JCPOA failed to fulfill their obligations, Iran also implemented the reduction of JCPOA obligations in 5 steps from May 2019.
Continuing the failure of European countries to fulfill their obligations, the Iranian parliament on December 1, 2020, passed the 9-article law "Strategic Action to Lift Sanctions and Protect the Interests of the Iranian Nation."
The requirement of Iran's Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran for 20% enrichment, increase of low level enriched uranium reserves and use of the new generation of IR2M and IR6 centrifuges by the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran are among the provisions of the law "Strategic action to lift sanctions and protect the interests of Iran."
