Tehran (IP) - Iran's science minister says Iranian universities and research centers have concluded 8400 active contracts with the industrial sector, which has resulted in a turnover of 2100 billion tomans.

Iran Press/Iran News: Mansour Gholami, Minister of Science, Research and Technology of Iran, made the remarks at the joint opening ceremony of the 8th Iranian Laboratory Equipment and Materials Exhibition and the 21st Exhibition of Research, Technology, and Techno Market Talents, which was dubbed as "Iran-Made Exhibition" and was held virtually Thursday.

He added: "Iranian universities have gained a special place in the field of science production in recent years, and this ability of Iranian researchers to conduct research, both quantitatively and qualitatively, has placed Iran among the famous countries."

The minister of science, research and technology of Iran said: "We have seriously pursued paying attention to applied research in various fields of science in universities and research centers."

Mansour Gholami added: "Iranian graduates present good ideas, but in order to achieve those ideas, the support of the private sector is needed."

He concluded: "The target community of Iranian knowledge-based companies for their products, in addition to the domestic market in Iran, must also include foreign markets, because if we want to break the deadlock of the oil-dependent economy, products must be offered to the world markets."
