Kabul (IP) - Iranian deputy foreign minister and Afghan foreign minister discussed the cooperation between Kabul and Tehran in various fields, especially the joint efforts of the two countries to strengthen the regional consensus for the success of the Afghan peace talks.

Iran PressAsia: Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, who has traveled to Afghanistan, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country Mohammad Hanif Atmar.

Referring to the cooperation between Kabul and Tehran in various fields, Atmar considered the two countries’ joint efforts to strengthen the regional consensus for the success of the Afghan peace talks, important and effective.

He also stressed the importance of continuing these efforts to achieve lasting peace in Afghanistan and ensure stability and economic development in the region.

On Sunday, the Afghan foreign minister praised the efforts of Abbas Araghchi to open the Khaf-Herat railway, saying: "After connecting Afghanistan to Central Asian countries in the north, connecting Afghanistan to Iran by the railway in the west of the country, has increased the spirit of hope and confidence to strengthen cooperation and regional connectivity between the governments and peoples of the region."

Araghchi also praised the Foreign Minister's attention to the expansion of relations between the two nations and called the development of relations between the two countries essential for regional connectivity and economic prosperity.

The two sides discussed the finalization of a comprehensive document on long-term cooperation and preparations to hold a joint economic commission.
