Iran, Turkey underscore need to intensify Joint Security Working Group collaboration

The Iranian Deputy Interior Minister for Security and Law enforcement and the Turkish Deputy Interior Minister stressed the need to intensify the Tehran-Ankara Joint Security Working Group's collaboration.

Iran PressIran News: Iran's Deputy Interior Minister for Security and Law Enforcement Hossein Zolfaghari, In a meeting with the Deputy Interior Minister of Turkey, Muhterem Ince, praised the positive position of the Turkish government in condemning the assassination of a prominent Iranian nuclear and defense scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh

He said: "Unfortunately, today, the root of all insecurities and troubles in the region stems from the desperate actions of the arrogant US government and the fake Zionist Regime."

Zolfaghari also stressed the intensification of counter-terrorism measures on the joint borders of Iran and Turkey, stating that terrorist moves are always considered as the red lines of Iran's Islamic Republic, both inside and outside of its borders.

Zolfaghari called on the Turkish government to pay more attention to controlling and dealing with arms smugglers, and undercover operatives who have targeted the insecurity of the region.

During the meeting, Muhterem Ince expressed his condolences on the assassination of the prominent Iranian nuclear and defense scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, as well as the deaths of Iranian citizens due to COVID-19.

The Deputy Interior Minister of Turkey also said that the activation of the Joint Security Working Group would lead to greater coordination and exchange of information and experiences in other areas of joint cooperation.
