Energy min: Iran, significant actor in cementing EEU ties

Bandar Anzali (IP) - The Iranian Minister of Energy said that the Islamic Republic of Iran could play a significant role in strengthening the cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Union.

Iran PressIran newsIran's Minister of Energy Reza Ardakanian added in a video message addressing the Eurasian Economic Union International Conference on the Geopolitical Role of Free Zones in Regional Development in Anzali Port (northern Iran) on Tuesday that the Eurasian Economic Union could protect its members and protect its trading partners against the negative impacts of globalization and help them improve their global competitiveness.

Referring to the recent developments in the vicinity of Iran's northern borders, which indicate the existence of insecurity in the region, Ardakanian said that by expanding cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union and increasing the interdependency of the region's economies and developing mutual trade, more insecurity can be prevented.

The Iranian Minister of Energy stated that the Eurasian Economic Union can serve as the center for creating new frameworks for regional cooperation, adding that Iran can play a significant role in strengthening Eurasian Economic Union cooperation, given the requirements of the neighborhood and special geographical location and superior transit position.

The International Conference on the Eurasian Economic Union and the Geopolitical Role of Free Zones in the Development of Regional Relations was held on Tuesday in the presence of Iranian and foreign officials in the Northern port of Anzali.
