Final Statement of 34th Int'l Islamic Unity Conference: Forming Islamic Union essential

Tehran (IP) - Participants in the 34th International Islamic Unity Conference stressed the need to form an 'Islamic Union' for the realization of a single nation and a new Islamic civilization.

Iran PressIran news: The final statement of the 34th International Islamic Unity Conference, issued on Tuesday night, stated that the Islamic Union is capable of organizing the cooperation of the Islamic world and the synergy of the Muslim nations, and preventing division and aggression in the Islamic world through the self-improvement of the Muslim nations.

The participants expressed their regret and condemnation over the behavior of some leaders of Islamic countries in normalizing relations with the Israeli regime and ignoring the Palestinian cause, emphasizing that Palestine remains the number-one issue in the Islamic world, and all attempts to forget or distort it, such as the US President Donald Trump's so-called 'Deal of the Century', are doomed to failure.

They also called for cooperation among Muslims to provide serious solutions, to take immediate action to defend Palestine and al-Aqsa Mosque, and to support the Islamic resistance, noting that the liberation of Palestine must be accompanied by the complete liberation of the territories occupied by the Zionist regime, the Golan Heights in Syria and the Shebaa farms in southern Lebanon and other occupied areas.

Pointing out to the coronavirus outbreak, the participants also proposed holding the meeting of the Islamic countries' health ministers and maximum use of countries' capacity to prevent, treat and fight against all the infectious diseases of the world, especially the pandemic.

The 34th International Islamic Unity Conference began virtually on October 29, 2020, in Tehran with 167 prominent figures of the Islamic world in attendance.
