Newly-disclosed statistics:

The US National Guard is gearing up to activate across the country to support the Nov. 3 general election in several capacities, standing by in case of post-election civil unrest.

Iran PressAmerica: There was a new round of newly-disclosed Guard activations Monday, including 1,000 troops in Massachusetts, 300 in Arizona, 300 in Alabama, and an undisclosed number in Florida, Oregon, and Illinois.

The Massachusetts and Oregon troops will be on standby in case of civil unrest, and the Arizona forces will be on standby for rapid deployment anywhere in the western portion of the nation if requested by any governor.

Americans are voting on Tuesday, November 3, in order to elect their next president, either giving Trump another four years or handing over the keys to the White House to Biden.

After a year marked by unrest and upheaval, many around the country are taking sweeping measures — and spending millions — to protect their properties during a high-stakes presidential election that could quickly turn contentious.

Some states are yet to determine how many troops will be activated, and many states have merely alerted selected units in anticipation of possible post-election unrest.

All of the troops currently activated are on state orders and are under the control of their respective governors.

In October, the National Guard has put military police units on standby in Alabama and Arizona to respond to any potential civil unrest following violent protests across the country this summer, Pentagon officials confirmed on Wednesday 8 October.

The move comes after a summer of protests sparked by the police' killing of George Floyd on May 25 in Minneapolis, with the National Guard deploying to various states and cities to handle demonstrations that turned violent.

New protective measures have taken while the latest polling average puts Biden ahead of Trump nationally. If the election were held today, the latest polls would suggest this outcome in the electoral college.
