Tehran (IP) - Vice-chairman of the national security commission of Iran's parliament said that today a new round of US failure at the international level begins as Iran can purchase, sell, and export weapons after the UN arms embargo against Tehran has lifted.

Iran Press/Iran news: On the last days of the JCPOA negotiations, it was agreed to lift Iran's arms embargo after five years in the framework of UN Resolution 2231, Abbas Moghtadaei told Iran Press on the sidelines of the Iranian parliament’s open session on Sunday.

After the UN arms embargo against Tehran is lifted, Iranian MP added that Iran could purchase, sell, and export weapons based on its indigenized defensive capabilities.

He said the US’ tried many ways to extend the arms embargo but failed to do so.

“We offer all our achievements and indigenized knowledge to other countries,” he concluded.

Despite opposition from the United States, a long-standing conventional arms embargo imposed on Iran has expired in line with the terms of a landmark nuclear deal between Iran and world powers.
