Democrats officially nominated former Vice President Joe Biden to be their presidential nominee by a virtual roll call on the second night of the Democratic National Convention.

Iran Press/America: Joe Biden officially secured the Democratic nomination for president Tuesday, winning votes cast by party delegates scattered across bridges, beaches, and statehouses in 57 states and territories.

“Thank you very, very much from the bottom of my heart. Thank you all. It means the world to me and my family, and I’ll see you on Thursday,” Biden said after his nomination.

Biden’s nomination was expected, and there was no drama as the roll call of votes unfolded at the Democratic National Convention, which is taking place as a virtual event because of the coronavirus pandemic.
