Tehran (IP) - Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Parliament Mojtaba Zonnouri stated that after the US-led coup on August 19, 1953, US interventions in domestic affairs of Iran still continues in different ways.

Iran PressIran news: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on the anniversary of the US-led coup against the Iranian government of Mohammad Mosaddeq, Zonnouri stated that with the nationalization of the Iranian oil industry, conspiracies began and all efforts were concentrated to overthrow the government elected by people.

Stating that several factors caused the coup d'état of August 19, 1953, he noted that the performance of the Mosaddeq government on the one hand, and the plotting and intervention of the United States, on the other hand, had lead to the coup.

During different historical periods, the US has been involved in the affairs of Iran in order to secure their illegitimate interests. Training SAVAK (the secret police, domestic security and intelligence service in Iran) to torture Iranian revolutionaries before the victory of the Islamic Revolution and judicial immunity for foreigners in Iran have been among the US interventions in this country.

The Nojeh coup, the Eagle Claw Operation (known as Tabas Operation), the creation and organization of counter-revolution, and terrorist groups are among the US interventions in Iran after the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

The imposition of the most severe sanctions and efforts to disrupt national unity in the Islamic Republic of Iran is the latest anti-Iranian actions by the US government.  207/216
