US knows that they cannot use snap-back: Iranian FM

The US' snapback mechanism is unlawful and unacceptable and they can't use it, Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif stated.

Iran PressIran news: During a meeting to introduce the new spokesman of the Foreign Affairs Ministry on Sunday Zarif said repeating a statement loudly does not give US officials the right.

Happy from annihilating the JCPOA and believing that he can destroy Iran in three months, on May 8, 2018, John Bolton in a press conference in the White House announced: "We are no longer a member of the JCPOA deal to use snapback".

The minute still exists in the White House; otherwise, they go and omit the phrase, Zarif said.

Under the UN Security Council Resolution 2231, which endorsed the 2015 nuclear deal, the arms embargo on Iran expires in October.

The US President Donald Trump’s administration has threatened that it may seek to trigger a snapback of all sanctions on Iran if attempts to extend the arms embargo fail.

The United Nations Security Council overwhelmingly rejected a US resolution to extend an Iranian arms embargo on Friday.

Foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in reaction to the US failure in the UNSC stressed that from a legal point of view, the US is not in a position to use a snapback mechanism and reimpose UN sanctions on Iran.
