Appointment of Abrams expresses confusion and chaos in US foreign policy: Envoy to Venezuela

The Iranian ambassador to Venezuela said that the appointment of Elliott Abrams as the US special envoy for Iran is a sign of the confusion and chaos in the foreign policy of the US terrorist president towards Iran.

Iran PressAmerica: The ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Venezuela, Hojjatullah Soltani, tweeted on Sunday, stating: "The appointment of Abrams as a failed agent to an impossible mission in order to exert maximum pressure on Iran is a sign of confusion and chaos in the foreign policy of the terrorist US president towards the Islamic Republic of Iran."

Elliott Abrams, the current US special envoy for Venezuelan affairs, is set to be in charge of the task group against Iran and to continue the campaign of maximum pressure in the administration of US President Donald Trump against Iran.

Earlier, Abbas Mousavi, spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, tweeted that there is no difference between Brian Hook and Elliott Abrams, stating: "that American officials have been bitten off more than they could chew."

US Special Representative for Iran Brian Hook recently resigned.

According to US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Elliott Abrams, the current US special envoy for Venezuelan affairs, will also be in charge of Iran during the transition period.
