The Lebanese Minister of Environment and Administrative Development has resigned.

Iran PressMiddle East: According to al-Nashra, Lebanese Minister of Environment and Administrative Development Damianos Kattar announced on Sunday that he had submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Hassan Diab.

Lebanese Information Minister Manal Abdul Samad also resigned today, while apologizing to the Lebanese people.

In a recent series of resignations, also Nassif Hamit resigned as Lebanese foreign minister last Monday.

Hassan Diab's cabinet consists of 20 ministers.

Neemat Frem, another member of the Lebanese parliament, also announced his resignation to become the sixth member of the Lebanese parliament to step down after the explosion in the port of Beirut.

Last Tuesday evening, a massive explosion took place in a nearby warehouse in the port of Beirut, containing 2,700 tons of ammonium nitrate, following a massive fire in a warehouse that stored flammable stuff.

According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, 158 people have been killed and more than 5,000 injured in the blast so far.
