The US COVID-19 death toll surged passed 150,000 on Wednesday, while the country is leading the globe in the number of cases and fatalities.

Iran Press/America: In California, Florida, and Texas, the seven-day average daily death toll was more than the 14-day average, according to an analysis of Johns Hopkins University data by The Wall Street Journal. That implies that deaths are increasing in those places.

In Arizona, which has struggled to contain the pandemic, the seven-day average was less than its 14-day average, suggesting COVID-19 fatalities are dropping. Arizona's seven-day average was still 70 deaths.

The US reported more than 61,000 new cases, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins, a slight increase after two consecutive days of tallies below 60,000. The total number of coronavirus cases in the US surpassed 4.3 million, accounting for more than a quarter of all confirmed cases worldwide, according to Johns Hopkins.

“Tragically, California surpassed another somber milestone today: 197 deaths. Our highest reported in a single day," Gov. Gavin Newsom tweeted on Wednesday.

Also, the Florida Department of Health reported 186 new coronavirus-related deaths among residents, its highest recorded increase over a 24-hour period.

The results of the latest poll in the United States show that 68% of Americans are dissatisfied with Trump's performance in dealing with the coronavirus crisis.
