Tehran (IP) - Spokesman for Food and Medicine Administration stated that since the Coronavirus outbreak, more than seven treatment protocols have been compiled in the country to contain the disease.

Iran PressIran News: On Monday 21 July, in an exclusive interview with Iran Press on methods, medicines, and effectiveness of new treatment of COVID-19 patients, Kianoush Jahanpour said that the new edits are being made based on new evidence to contain the novel virus.

He remarked that the two committees of the National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus and Treatment have put the issue of reviewing and developing diagnostic and treatment protocols on their agenda since the outbreak, and all treatment regimens that may be used in the world are documented, evidence-based.

He stated that any medicine entry or removal from the national protocols to treat the patients is subjected to either the research studies done in the world or clinical observations carried out in the country.

"Since the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic, the country has both anti-virus therapies and maintenance therapies that have been put on the agenda by the scientific committee, consisting of a group of specialists and representatives of scientific associations," noted Spokesman for Food and Medicine Administration.  207/219
