Thousands of American workers and employees went on strike in a nationwide strike to protest against racial inequality.

Iran PressAmerica: According to the Associated Press, American protesters on Monday called for an improvement in the employment of black Americans in a demonstration called "Strike for Black Lives."

Trade unions and social organizations and supporters of racial justice organized the strike in more than 24 US cities.

The organizers of the demonstration announced that those protesters who were not able to attend the demonstration full time, in memory of blacks killed in police violence also observed a minute of silence.

Large numbers of workers also gathered in front of the Trump International Hotel in Manhattan, New York, to protest systematic racism and economic inequality.

The nationwide strike comes as protesters have taken to the streets against US police brutality since the killing of black American citizen George Floyd. May 25
