The Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education of Iran Saeed Namak

Tehran(IP) - The Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education of Iran announced the production of Remdesivir for the treatment of COVID-19 in the country.

Iran Press/Iran News: The Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education of Iran, Saeed Namaki, on Wednesday, on the sidelines of the cabinet meeting, stated that there is no effective and reliable medicine for the treatment of coronavirus in the world.

Namaki went on to highlight that Remdesivir in Europe and the United States for those infected with the virus I will be prescribed and its domestic production will start in Iran next week.

Referring to the methods of medicine in the Ministry of Health of Iran, Namaki stated: "Iranian researchers are working on this issue in 57 research groups, and the results will be discussed and criticized in a scientific committee headed by 50 of the most prominent physicians."

He also added that in the near future, the results of the research of Iranian scientists as one of the prominent countries researching in the field of medicine would be published.

According to the latest statistics of the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education of Iran, the total number of Covid-19 patients in the country has reached 264,561, of which about 228,000 patients have recovered or been discharged from hospitals.
