Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi

Tehran (IP) - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi called sanctioning of members of the Guardian Council of the Iranian Constitution as the boycott of the guardian of democracy and the rights of the people.

Iran Press/Iran News: Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi, on Wednesday, in his note released on the occasion of the anniversary of the establishment of the Guardian Council of Iran, addressed the issue of boycotting its members by the US government saying the boycott of the members of the Guardian Council of the Iranian Constitution is a boycott of the guardian of democracy, and the rights of the people, which directly targets the legitimacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Mousavi added that the sanctions imposed on the council and its members show the depth of the US regime's hatred and hostility towards the Iranian government and people.

"If the Islamic Republic, despite the maximum pressure and decades of oppressive and unilateral sanctions, and all these conspiracies and media attacks, is still stable, the sanctioned institutions are the cause and founder of it", highlighted he.

On February 20, the totalitarian and anti-people US government, in an interventionist and illegal move, placed five members of the Guardian Council of Iran on the sanctions list.
