Tehran (IP) - The Special Assistant to the Speaker of Iran's Parliament for International Affairs in his latest tweet released on Tuesday called upholding the death penalty against 2 young Bahrainis as the indicator of a deep rift between House of Khalifa and the Bahraini nation.

He also stressed that Instead of developing ties with the Israeli regime, the House of Khalifa must reform engagement with its own people.

The Bahraini Supreme Court on Monday upheld the death sentences of two opposition youths.

The people of Bahrain have been protesting against the Al-Khalifa regime since February 14, 2011, and have called for the resignation of the regime and the return of an elected military to their country during peaceful protests.

The Al-Khalifa regime, with the help of the Saudi and UAE militias and the support of the United States and Western countries, has suppressed peaceful protests since 2011 and has detained and imprisoned thousands of protesters.
