Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi

Tehran (IP) - Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman dismissed the US allegations that the Iranian vessel carrying weapons to Yemen has been seized.

Iran Press/Iran News: Seyyed Abbas Mousavi reacted on Thursday to the US officials' claim and said lying, accusing, and hate-mongering are of the main US foreign policy components, especially in the current regime.

"The US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's 'hate-mongering' remarks also come from the same approach," Mousavi noted.

He described the claim as baseless and further said that since the US policymakers feel failed to keep on Iran's arms embargo in the international scene and UN Security Council, they resort to lying and making accusations against Iran to reach their sinister goals.

Mousavi stressed that the US and Saudi regimes have imposed a five-year blockade on the Yemeni people, killing thousands due to starvation and malnutrition.

"Instead of being held accountable for their crimes in Yemen, the two regimes are trying to shirk responsibility and accountability for their inhumane and criminal behavior by making baseless accusations against others," he noted.

Saudi Arabia and a number of its regional allies launched the devastating war on Yemen in March 2015 in order to bring the country’s former President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi back to power and crush the Ansarullah movement.

Over 100,000 people have been killed and more than 3.5 million people have been internally displaced since the war began.

Over 24 million Yemenis need aid, among them, 10 million are facing famine.

UN has described Yemen as the world's biggest humanitarian crisis.
