Tehran (IP) - The spokeswoman for the Ministry of Health said that so far, 250,458 people in the country have been infected with the coronavirus, and 212,176 of total infected people have recovered and discharged from hospitals so far.

Iran PressIran News: Sima Sadat Lari said on Thursday about the latest data on the coronavirus in the country and the deaths caused by the virus: "According to the definitive laboratory findings and from yesterday to July 9, 2,079 new patients with COVID-19 were diagnosed in the country and the number of patients with this disease reached 250,458."

"995 of the new patients were hospitalized," she added.

The Spokeswoman said: "Unfortunately, in the past 24 hours, 221 COVID-19 patients have lost their lives, and bringing the total number of deaths to 12,305."

The official stated: "3,324 patients are in intensive care units."

"So far, around 1,897,803 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted in the country," Lari said.

According to the spokeswoman, the provinces of Khuzestan, Hormozgan, Bushehr, Kermanshah, Kurdistan, Ilam, West, and East Azerbaijan, and Khorasan Razavi have critical conditions due to the code-red situation.

The provinces of Tehran, Isfahan, Mazandaran, Golestan, Alborz, Kerman, Yazd, Sistan and Baluchestan, Hamedan and Ardabil are on alert.
