China emphasizes lifting of sanctions against Iran

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman stressed the lifting of US unilateral sanctions against Iran.

Iran Press/Asia: Zhao Lijian at a weekly news conference in Beijing on Tuesday 30 June, said: China, under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action(JCPOA) in 2015, opposes US efforts to pressure the UN Security Council to impose sanctions on Iran.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman while opposing any US pressure on the Security Council said sanctions against Iran are illegal and should be lifted

In another part of his speech, Zhao Lijian spoke about China's position on the annexation of the West Bank by the Zionist regime saying: "Beijing opposes annexation and construction of Zionist settlements on the West Bank."

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman added that the construction of Zionist settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories according to the Security Council is in complete violation of international law, and agreements must adhere to UN resolutions in this regard.

The UN Security Council, in its Resolution 2334 of December 23, 2016, called on the Zionist regime to immediately and completely suspend all its settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories. But this usurping regime, in the shadow and the support of the US government and ignoring the will of the international community, continues to build settlements and suppress the Palestinian people.
