Iran Press/ Iran News: The annular solar eclipse which is the last one in 14th solar Hijri is set to amaze stargazers in the Iranian capital of Tehran on Sunday, June 21.
The phenomenon in which the moon passes in front of the sun, blocking it out partially, is set to begin in Iran at 09:04 local time (04:34 GMT), reach its peak at 10:16 (05:46 GMT) and end at 11:38 (07:08 GMT).
This is the point of maximum duration, with the blackout lasting 1 minute and 22 seconds.
In Chabahar at Sistan and Baluchistan in Southeastern Iran, ring of fire" solar eclipse is visible at the best of its condition with 95 percent of its utmost blackout.
Remarkably, the eclipse on Sunday arrives on the northern hemisphere’s longest day of the year the summer solstice when Earth's north pole is tilted most directly towards the Sun which in Iran is the first day of the Summer.
The annular eclipse, known as a 'ring of fire' because of the bright ring of sunlight it draws around the Moon, is expected to be visible from parts of Africa and Asia, including the Central African Republic, Congo, Ethiopia, southern Pakistan, northern India, and China.
