Tehran (IP) - International Conference on Ashura Movement and its impressions from the perspectives of Imam Khomeini is underway at Mausoleum of Ruhollah Khomeini, south of Tehran in Behesht-e Zahra.

Iran Press/Iran news: Various figures from several countries have attended the conference on Monday physically and virtually.

The representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs said that this era should be called the era of Imam Khomeini because there are signs of people being awakened in the face of world powers all over the world.

Speaking on Monday at the International Conference on Ashura Movement and Its Impressions from the Perspectives of Imam Khomeini, Abdolfattah Navvab said, "This era should be called the era of Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Revolution, because all over the world we see that nations have awakened, gained courage and confidence in the face of the world powers, and spiritual and divine values have spread among the people."

"Imam Khomeini has always emphasized the continuation of the path of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), the third Shia imam, and the school of Ashura," he said.

Navvab continued, "Like Imam Hussein (pbuh), Imam Khomeini exposed the cruelty of the oppressors and enlightened the people in this regard."
