Tehran(IP) -The total humanitarian aid to Iran's Red Crescent Society was 7 million dollars mainly from China and out of the mentioned 112 shipments, 70 shipments were sent from China, Chief of the Iranian's Red Crescent Society Karim Hemmati said.

Iran PressIran news: On the sideline of a panel on Coronavirus controlling opportunities assessment which was held at the Interior Ministry, Hemmati in an exclusive interview with Iran Press about the role of this organization to control and contain the virus during the epidemic said: "Iran's Red Crescent Society has trained online many volunteers by giving them a license on how to act and behave during the epidemic.

He also added the organization has screened 21 million out of which 14,000 were diagnosed with COVID-19 sent to caring centers.

The factories have increased sanitizers, masks, and protective shields during the outbreak under the supervision of the Red Crescent Society reiterated Hemmati.

The official went on to say that the Health Ministry's medicine shortages have also been met.

Over 300,000 food packages distributed among deprived ones, plus 500,000 cancer- patients have received hygienic packages, he said.

"Prisons, penitentiaries, parks, and outskirts of the country have been sanitized and disinfected, and 7 million liters of liquid sanitizer distributed also," Hemmati stated.

In total, 530 billion rial non-cash and 350 billion rials in cash, philanthropic aid have been donated to the Red Crescent Society as the body in charge of collecting the aid, the official highlighted.

Chief of the Iranian Red Crescent Society added 112 international shipments that have entered Iran and distributed among in need.

Swiss has sent its 1-million-dollar aid to the country and some parts of Iran's blockaded money have been unfrozen plus the International Federation of Red Cross (IFRC) donated 500,000 francs, he stated.
