Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani held a phone conversation with Iraqi counterpart Mohammed al-Halbusi

Tehran (IP) - Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani held a phone conversation on Saturday with his Iraqi counterpart Mohammed al-Halbusi to discuss the expansion of ties between the two countries, the effects and consequences of the coronavirus outbreak and ways to deal with the problem.

Iran Press/Iran news: Ali Larijani expressed his satisfaction with the formation of the new government in Iraq and said: "The Islamic Republic of Iran, as it has repeatedly proved, is always ready for economic cooperation with Iraq and strengthening stability and security in this country."

"The Iraqi parliament has played an important role in contributing to form an efficient government to ensure Iraq's national interests and economic prosperity," Iranian Parliament Speaker stressed. 

Ali Larijani congratulated his Iraqi counterpart on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr and voiced Iran's readiness to share the experiences in the fight against the coronavirus. 

Iraqi Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halbusi also congratulated Ali Larijani and Iranian nation on Eid al-Fitr, noting: "The consultation between the speakers and representatives of the parliaments of Iran and Iraq has always played a significant role in helping to develop cooperation between the two countries." 

He further called for continued cooperation between the two countries in various bilateral and regional areas.

Referring to the coronavirus outbreak in the Arab country, Mohammed al-Halbusi called for sharing experiences with the Islamic Republic of Iran to curb the virus.
