Tehran (IP) - The Minister of Health Saeed Namaki, has said that although Iran is faced with sanctions and economic problems, the death toll from the Coronavirus pandemic has reduced 25%, and more than 90% of patients recovered.

Iran Press/Iran news: According to Namaki,  one of the saddest days was when the medical staff had no clothes or protective items, at that time those who mocked us in their Media and stabbed us in the heart when they themselves infected, they realized how Iran had withstood the disease.

He said: "The mocking was while the number of nurses for each hospital bed in the worst conditions is three times that of our country and the number of beds in these countries in the worst conditions is seven times that of Iran, but all patients were admitted to hospitals."

"The countries that mocked us at the time of the Coronavirus outbreak in Iran were themselves caught in the terrible storm of Corona, and at that time they realized how we stood," Namaki reiterated.

The Minister of Health stated: "One of the main reasons for our differences with Western countries is that our nurses and doctors did not turn their backs on people due to lack of protective items."

A miracle happened in 50 days

"Since the outbreak of COVID-19 disease in China, exports of health items have been suspended and a depot of sanitary items has been on the agenda, and it has been God's grace for a country to become an exporter within 50 days," he said adding: "The country which was dependent on other countries for providing medical gowns and masks, in 50 days is independent now."

"The country which was in need, turned into an independent country in a short time, the medical gowns that we have here do not have European ones and are unique," he concluded.

Saeed Namaki stated: "We have spent tough days, once our medical staff did not get enough masks and medical gowns, unfortunately, we lost some of them for the same reason."

He went on to say: "Although we faced sanction and economic problems, our death toll reduced 25%, and more than 90% of our patients recovered." 101/207
