Permanent Mission of the People's republic of China to the United Nations called Iran's nuclear deal 2015 a multilateral agreement, saying any effort to exploit the Security Council Resolution 2231 would go nowhere.

Iran PressAmerica: "Iran's nuclear deal 2015 has been approved by the UN Security Council as a multilateral agreement and is still legally binding and effective," the mission said on its Twitter page on Friday.

Ambassador Zhang Jun, Permanent Representative of China to the UN added: "It is the responsibility of all parties to the agreement, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), must act by its provisions as well as Resolution 2231. Efforts to exploit the resolution will not work."

"We support the United Nations in taking more decisive action in the face of the problems of the most vulnerable countries," he went on to say, pointing to the global Coronavirus Pandemic.

"COVID-19 is a common enemy of all, and to fight it, we must stand with the United Nations and the World Health Organization, prioritize people, respect science, and protect life and health," he said.
