The Swiss government confirmed on Friday that the so-called US humanitarian channel created to ease trading basic goods with Iran has yielded no tangible result.

Iran PressEurope: A spokesman for the Swiss Secretariat of State for Economic Affairs Fabian Maienfisch said that no transactions have been made through the channel.

"Unfortunately, the whole of the process has been slower than the expected level due to the Coronavirus global pandemic," he added.

US President Donald Trump tries to save face through the "Swiss Humanitarian Trade Agreement (SHTA)".  

This is while Washington's coward sanctions against Iran hampered Iran’s access to medical supplies to battle Covid-19.

A few days ago, the US Department of Treasury claimed that a new mechanism for exchanging agricultural and pharmaceutical goods has fully become operational between Switzerland and Iran.
