Iran\\\\\\\'s Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali

Russia (IP) - Iran's Ambassador to Russia said that US unilateral withdrawal from international agreements has raised concerns and suspicions among US allies about Washington's real intentions.

Iran Press/Asia: Kazem Jalali tweeted on Friday that the United States ignored a UN Security Council resolution that was the result of a global consensus and the victory of diplomacy and multilateralism, and withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and imposed illegal sanctions against Iran.

The Iranian Ambassador to Moscow added that the unilateral withdrawal of the United States from international treaties and agreements, including the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), the Paris Agreement, and the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) has raised concerns and suspicions among its allies about US' real intentions.

Jalali stated that the use of sanctions has become a tool of US foreign policy, noting: "The United States has not paid attention to its European allies' call for adherence to JCPOA, and for the first time called on members of the international community to violate international agreements and Security Council Resolution 2231.

On May 8, 2018, US President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew from Iran Nuclear Deal in violation of Washington's commitments under the international agreement and announced the return of sanctions against Tehran.
