Tehran (IP) - Iran Health Ministry spokesman said from yesterday to May 8 in the country, 1,556 new patients with COVID-19 were diagnosed in the country and unfortunately in the past 24 hours, 55 COVID-19 patients have lost their lives.

Iran Press/Iran news: Head of Public Relations and Information Center of the Health Ministry announced that so far, 104,691 people in the country have been infected with the coronavirus whom among them 83,837 recovered. 

Iran's Ministry of Health and Medical Education Spokesperson Kianoush Jahanpour about the latest data on the deadly coronavirus in the country said, "According to the definitive laboratory findings and from yesterday to May 8 in the country, 1,556 new patients with COVID-19 were diagnosed in the country and the number of patients with this disease reached 104,691." 

Fortunately, 83,837 patients have recovered so far, Jahanpour added.

The Ministry of Health Spokesman said, "Unfortunately, in the past 24 hours, 55 COVID-19 patients have lost their lives, and 6,541 people have lost their lives in the country to the date."

He stated, "2,711 patients are in a critical condition."

So far, 558,899 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted in the country.
