Russia Ambassador to International Organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov

Europe (IP): Russia's Ambassador to International Organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, said: "The US attempts to present itself as JCPOA participant have no future."

Iran PressEurope: In a tweet released on Thursday, Mikhail Ulyanov criticized the US, saying: "It is likely common sense mockery. Those who invented this idea gave bad advice to US authorities."

He also reiterated that cynical approaches must have their own limits in order not to compromise national policy to the worst extent.

The New York Times on May 27 revealed a US ploy to pressure the United Nations Security Council to extend an arms embargo on Tehran, which is due to expire in October.

According to the New York Times, Mike Pompeo has approved a plan, under which the United States would claim it legally remains a "participant state" in the nuclear deal that Donald Trump has unilaterally withdrawn.

The United Nations UN Security Council added arms embargo on Iran in 2006 and 2007, which is supposed to be lifted on 18 October 2020, five years after the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) Adoption Day.
