Tehran (IP) - Iranian Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli called on the Iranian people to observe the health protocols for reducing the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking in the Economic and Coronavirus management headquarters meeting in Tehran, the Iranian Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli congratulated Muslims on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, saying:" 65 days after the official report of the first coronavirus cases in the country, Iran has succeeded in managing and containing the disease with people and health ministry's cooperation."

Rahmani Fazli referred to the shortage of medical equipment in the first days of the coronavirus outbreak, added that all the country's equipment and infrastructures had been for normal conditions not critical as long as the virus is unknown. 

Iranian Interior Minister continued that all the Iranian nation must act cautiously, and any carelessness would rise irreparable damages and losses. 

He also referred to the resuming the operation of businesses in the country, highlighted the importance of paying attention to high-touch areas such as public transit, and urged people to wear medical masks and observe health protocols for reducing the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). 

Rahmani Fazli stressed on the significance of borders monitoring, saying: "The entrance of the boarders must be monitored consistently to prevent the spread of other diseases from neighboring countries." 

He called on the neighboring countries of Afghanistan and Pakistan to cooperate in fighting against the deadly coronavirus.

Iranian Interior Minister referred to the detrimental impacts of the virus on trade, production, economic growth, social and security of all countries around the world, hoped to find medicine and vaccine to curb the virus soon. 

Pointing to the inhumane US sanctions, Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli noted how the sanctions and the coronavirus, as well as the slump in crude oil prices, have impacted the country's economy, urged the government to make the most of the country's facilities. 

The Economic and Coronavirus management headquarters meeting held today at Interior Ministry, with Iranian Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, Deputy of Health ministry Alireza Raeisi, and some other officials in attendance.
