Tehran(IP): The Chief of distribution of COVID-19 drugs at the Food and Drug Administration of the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education said on Saturday that the new Corona medicine which is antiviral in nature is going to be manufactured in Iran.

Iran Press/Iran news: A new antiviral drug used in China that has been successful in the treatment of patients will soon be produced in Iran, said the chief of distribution of COVID-19 drugs at the Food and Drug Administration of the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education.

Ali Razzazan said on Saturday 21 March that the raw materials for the antiviral drug have already arrived in the country and production of the drug begins, after customs clearance, in less than two days.

Referring to the successful use of this drug on the patients diagnosed with COVID-19 in China, Razazan added that the medicine is an independent antiviral compound that has been manufactured and tested in China and can be used alongside other antiviral drugs available in Iran to treat those who have been stricken by the disease.

Pointing to the fact that Iran’s s Ministry of Health is seeking to eradicate the disease, Razzazan highlighted that many countries are now dependent on the findings of researches carried out by Iran’s scientific committee over COVID-19.

Today, in a piece of relevant news, Iran's Health Ministry spokesman Kianoush Jahanpour In a daily press conference that was held at the Health Ministry on Thursday, Kianoush Jahanpour said that 7635 people have recovered in total since the outbreak of coronavirus in Iran.
