Inhuman sanctions hinder chemical victims treatment:

Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons said at the Executive Committee of the OPCW that Inhuman sanctions hinder chemical victims' treatment.

Iran Press/Europe: Alireza Kazemi Abadi Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, in a speech on Wednesday, March 11, at the 93rd Executive Committee of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, referring to the imposition of unilateral sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran said that inhumane sanctions have negatively affected the supply of drugs and treatment to victims of chemical weapons in Iran and have made the process of treating chemical victims difficult.

Iranian envoy to OPCW noted that the destruction of chemical weapons and the universality of the Convention is necessary for the full realization of chemical disarmament; meanwhile, he emphasized that the United States, as the sole holder of chemical weapons has hampered the achievement of the Convention's objectives by failing to destroy its chemical weapons arsenal.

Iranian diplomat called on the US to abide by its chemical weapons obligations under the Chemical Weapons Convention.

Kazemi Abadi, pleased with Syria's cooperation with the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, called for continued cooperation until the elimination of chemical terrorism.
