Tehran (IP) - Trade figures for the first eight months of the current Iranian year show that three neighbouring countries, namely Iraq, Turkey and Afghanistan, have together absorbed $1.481 billion worth of Iranian mining industry and mining products .

Iran Press/Iran news: Official statistics show that a total of eight-and-a-half million tonnes of mining products were purchased and exported to Iraq, Turkey and Afghanistan in the first eight months of the current Iranian year.

Figures also show that in 2018, for every tonne of mining products exported $160 entered Iran's economy, and in total, the export of mining products earned the country over 9.2 billion dollars.

According to official government statistics over 50 percent of Iran's exports to Iraq were industrial and mining products and in the first eight months of the current Iranian year Iraq imported 5.713 million tonnes of industrial and mining products from Iran, worth around 798 million dollars.

Statistics also show that 512000 tonnes of mining products were exported to Turkey in the first eight months of the current Iranian year worth a total of 393 million dollars. 

More than half-a-million Iranians are employed in the mining industries sector, and out of this figure, about 138000 Iranians are employed directly in mines. 101/211
