Sari (IP) - Farahabad Mosque is part of the Farahabad Historical Complex, located in the city of Sari, the capital of Mazandaran province.

Iran Press/Iran news: The Mosque is related to the Safavid dynasty, and dates back to the year 1025 of the Islamic calendar, built based on the architectural style of the 'Isfahan School'.

The Farahabad complex, where Abbas the Great (Abbas I of Persia) spent part of his reign, included a mosque, bridge, and the Jahan Nama Palace, which is now the only mosque left.

Farahabad Mosque is 75 meters long and 65 meters wide, giving a floor area of about 4,800 square meters, constructing by brick and Sarooj (a traditional water-resistant mortar used in Iranian architecture).

The Farahabad Mosque is built in the four-iwan architectural style and its entrance is decorated with colorful tiles.

Farahabad Mosque, located 25 kilometers from Sari, the capital of Iran's northern province of Mazandaran, welcomes many tourists daily.
