Seyyed Abbas Mousavi

Tehran (IP) - Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi has rejected France's interventionist statement on Iran's space program.

Iran PressIran news: The French Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Monday, condemning Iran's launch of 'Zafar' satellite, claiming it was in breach of Iran's international obligations and 2231 UN Security Council Resolution.

Seyyed Abbas Mousavi dismissed the meddlesome comments by France over Iran's recent satellite launch, saying the country reserves an inherent right to conduct its space activities in line with the technological growth plans.

"Iran's defensive missile program is not related to the UNSC Resolution 2231 because Iran's missiles are not designed for carrying nuclear weapons," Mousavi reiterated on Tuesday.

The Islamic Republic of Iran successfully launched the 'Zafar' satellite on Sunday but failed to put it into orbit.
